Choosing a Month in Southeast Texas

There are roughly five good months. Everyone wants the same two of them.

The Short List

Late October into early December, and March into April. That is essentially it for reliably comfortable outdoor weather, and it is why those dates book eighteen months out.

May is a gamble that often pays. September is a gamble that often does not. July and August outdoors are a decision you make on purpose, with a plan.

What the Climate Actually Does

The practical consequence is that no month is dry. There is no season in which you can safely assume it will not rain on you.

Regional averages are close to useless on this coast, where conditions change substantially over short distances between inland and the bay.
